How to Support the Foxboro Music Association
There are a number of ways you can support the mission and programs of the Foxboro Musical Association and the Foxboro Music Department:
- Volunteer for events
- Purchase and enjoy Foxborough Music CDs
- Attend live concert performances
- Become an FMA family or business sponsor
- Make purchases through eScrip, an online fundraising site
Along with these ongoing opportunities, there are a number of seasonal ways you can help us raise money to support the music program in Foxboro, including:
- Purchasing a stadium cushion for $20 at a home football game. Look for the FMA tent at home football games.
- Ordering a holiday wreath. Order forms are available at the FMA tent at home football games, as well as at concerts and here online.
- Save your returnable cans and bottles for our Bottle and Can Drive held every fall. Members of the music program collect from homes all over Foxboro. Or you may drop off your returnables at the town hall parking lot between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 the day of the drive.
- Help with holiday wrapping at L. L. Bean.
Volunteer for Events
There are several volunteer opportunities available to music parents through the FMA:
- Foxborough High School is one of the host sites for the yearly Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festival. The FMA supports this effort by providing volunteers who assist in numerous ways throughout the weekend.
- Bottle and can drive
- Marching band events
- Jazz Fest
- Concert and Bandarama staffing
- Represent FMA as presenter to various parent groups
If you would like to volunteer but are unable to attend the FMA meetings, please contact us ask to be added to the FMA email list. Note that the email list is not the same list as Mr. Massey's list. Volunteer opportunities will also be regularly posted on this website.
Attend Concerts
A live concert is an opportunity for parents and members of the community to witness learning in action.
Foxborough's music program includes orchestral, choral, chamber, concert band, and jazz ensembles at Foxborough High School and the Ahern Middle School. These ensembles perform concerts throughout the year. The concert schedule is posted on the music department's web page. Information about upcoming concerts is often included in the Foxboro Reporter and the Sun Chronicle.
The FMA encourages the community to attend holiday and seasonal concerts, Bandarama, the MICCA festival, plus Pops and Jazz Fest celebrations in the Spring.
Become a Sponsor
The Foxboro Music Association's annual sponsorship program is the most significant source of income for our not-for-profit organization.
Each year community and business donations provide nearly $4000 in scholarships for middle and high school students; master classes and concert performances by professional ensembles and musicians; special programs for elementary students; commissioning of original works composed especially for Foxboro's bands and chorus.
Family sponsorships start at $35. Business sponsorships start at $25 and feature your business name in FMA's yearly mailing. You can print out the appropriate form and return it completed to Foxboro Music Association, 120 South Street, Foxboro, MA, 02035.
If you would like to receive a sponsorship form by postal mail, please contact us.
Bottle and Can Drive
Each year in September, the FMA and band, chorus, and orchestra students collect bottles and cans for redemption.
Adult drivers transport students to neighborhoods all over Foxboro for pickups from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Parents, students, and siblings sort incoming bottles and cans in the Town Hall parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
You can help support the Foxboro music program in this effort in any one of the following ways:
- Be an adult driver.
- Help sort bottles and cans.
- Save your returnable bottles and cans.
- Ask friends and neighbors to save returnable bottles and cans.
All proceeds benefit our music programs and scholarships.
